En dicho inventario existen 31 campos petroleros para la exploración y extracción de recursos convencionales. Actualmente, el inventario de áreas presenta 172 áreas remanentes para la conformación de bloques para la exploración y extracción, de los cuales 113 se ubican costa afuera y 59 en zonas terrestres de recursos convencionales.
